Today’s Tuesday Teaser! 12/12/2017

Welcome to Teaser Tuesday, the weekly Meme that is hosted by The Purple Booker, and brought to my attention by It is very easy to play along:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

What Stacy is Reading:

If I had to guess, I’d say it’s probably hidden behind the gilded-frame portrait of a woman in a blue dress holding an infant that runs all the way to the floor. There’s also a free-standing globe, cracked open to reveal a bottle of champagne on ice inside.

“A menace, you mean,” he said. “And a pirate. He deserves to be hung like any other thief, for stealing away our vocent. Just you wait. Willaiim will have retribution.”

“Specialist Fourth Class James Coppi comes out of the company headquarters where he’s just reported for duty, early one mid-April evening, picks up his duffel bag, and heads to the barracks. A drab gray building of horizontal planks, it looks the same as all the other barracks he’s seen since being drafted.”

What Daisy is Reading:

“So, Ray, have you listened to a weather forecast lately? she asked at one point during the dinner. Leonard nodded his head.”

Teaser for The Ruins:

“Come on, you psychopath, come and get me!”, Randall goaded. The crazed mercenary’s eyes narrowed, the look on his face a mixture of confusion and sheer hatred.”

“We thrive in a social or community setting. Our brains are wired for interacting with other people, animals and nature.”

“These people– Barham and Bell– were ruthless. They would not let anything stand in the way of this project, including Nick.”
